A large solid oak Architects Plan Chest with panelled sides and solid oak top.
Originally from an engineering factory near Norwich where it spent most of its life in service, before being dry stored.
We have deep cleaned and given the plan chest a full service, making sure all drawers running smoothly and tightening up the main frame.
It has been given a nice wax and polish too, but other than that has been left totally original, retaining all the character from many years of daily use and as a result has a deep and rich patina. This is not a perfectly restored piece as we love to preserve the original character rather than fully strip and restore whenever possible.
Very solid and heavy, splitting into 2 parts to enable access and delivered by our two man delivery team to a room of choice.
Suitable for A0 size plans.
A beautiful old thing, ready to work being suitable for A0 size sheets or just as a lovely big decorative piece.
