Designed by British furniture makers Greaves & Thomas in the 1960s, this beautiful mid century sofa features a solid teak curved frame and legs with a beautiful grain to the wood.
This iconic sofa also doubles up as a sofa bed using a foot mechanism to the rear, which when applied accompanied with a push to the back, folds flat to make a large single/ small double bed.
When fully restored and newly upholstered they often fetch around £3-4000, however, although we have carried out work in the workshop as detailed below but have opted to leave the original fabric in place.
We have carried out work to the mechanism to enable a smooth operation from sofa to bed. We have also carried out work to the wood, polishing and varnishing the frame to bring out the shine and emphasise the beauty of the wood.
The original fabric has been deep cleaned in the workshop but does have some general wear which in my opinion adds to the vintage charm and beauty of the piece! – however it could of course be re-upholstered.
A superb looking sofa, extremely solid, well made and ready to ship.
